I never travel without my manual locks in place....one at the front of the slide and one at the rear. My fear is, though, that I'll forget that they are there and try to extend the slide without removing them. To combat that, I tie a long string from the slide lock to the slide button so I'll see it and be reminded to remove the locks BEFORE hitting the button!
