- bluwtr49Explorer III've had great luck with Interstate...forget the model but 8-10 years of life has been good to me.
I did look at the Costco offering but the AH capacity was quite a bit less than the other deep cycls. I had a bit of a problem finding the AH capacity as it wasn't on the batteries but it turned out to be ~165 AH vs. the more normal 225 to 250. - wa8yxmExplorer IIIIf you have the membership I'd go with Sam's
or if not Sam's Costco (I'd rather shop Costco)
Since I have neither I went with DEKA (only battery completly made in the USA or so they tell me). but Interstate and US Battery which incoluds most of the brands sold in the usa (with different paint jobs) are good too.
The Best.. There are some boitique brands, Small companies that make fantastic batteries where you will have a hard time finding a dealer,
But of the national brands.. TROJAN is considered the best.. Most expensive too. - KD4UPLExplorer IIThere's only a coupl makers of batteries in this country: Deka, Trojan, Johnson Controls, Exide, Rolls. That might be it.
Trojan is likely the best and most expensive. I've had excellent results with the 100s of Deka batteries I've installed over the years. - RoyBExplorer IIA friend of mine always keep close contact with the golf cart guys.. Seems like most of rich golfers will just replace their golf cart batteries every year whether they need it or not... He rounds up all of the used 6VDC golf cart batteries he can find and runs his expert charge routines on them and usually comes up with several he can use for his camper... I got a couple from him one time and they worked great... The cost was FREE haha...
The golf carts sometimes use the 8VDC battery in their banks so have to be sure you are picking out the 6VDC batteries...
I am in the market for four each 12VDC Trojan Batteries T-1275s for my next battery bank upgrade. These are 150AH batteries and will each produce 12VDC @ 25Amps for 280 minutes (4.6 hours) two of course in parallel will give me 9.2 hours of use or 4.6 hours if I only run them down to 50% charge... 25AMPs is alot of DC current to use in one day/nite run off the batteries. One guy down in NC has found a source for them around $150 each new from a golf course place...
Some of the highest priced batteries I was aware of was the LIFELINE Sealed AGMs 12VDC at 255AHs for $650 each... Thats some serious dollars for me... Too much for this ole Southern Illinois Dirt Farmer...
Deals are out there... and I guess as the old saying goes... You get what you pay for...

.......... If you want an honest opinion, call your local golf cart dealer/supplier and ask what their using. Might even be able to get a bargain directly from them.
We purchased our current Trojan T-105's from a golf cart supplier. After searching around, they were the lowest price - for the specific Trojans that we were looking for. - dstock50ExplorerUnless you dry camp why spend the money ? most are the same with a different name and price.
- WyoTravelerExplorerInterstate. About $150
