I have two somewhat heavy chairs for the dining table which are on carpet and are not secured in any way, but they stay in place just fine. I also have 2 padded folding chairs which match and are stored under the bed.
that's what we do but we keep the two extra chairs at home because even with the dining tabel leaf in there is just mo room for 4-people so no point in taking up bay storage space. if we have company we either use the picnic table or head to a restaurant. - Bruce_BrownModerator

I see a lot of coaches with separate chairs for the dinette. Is there usually a place to store them for travel. Are there only two?

they usually are just strapped down under the table to the floor. I have to extra chairs that fold up and I store them in the clothes closet.
