How can I charge chassis batteries off of coach charger

My chassis batteries do not charge except off the coach alternator. I have an '06 Holiday Ambassador 8.3 ISC. I made some jumpers with alligator clips to try when it is parked and plugged in but then ...

Isn't there an automatic switch installed to do that?

I'd simply get a battery minder and plug it into the 120 AC outlet while parked.
