My better half was also really getting tired of the width and length of our A, and we both wanted to get away from having to tow. However, the Axis has a 5,000 lb hitch with a GVWR of 12,500 and a GCWR of 18,500. We would actually have to buy a lighter toad if we miss having one as we were towing a 4x4 Dakota with our previous motorhome.
With regards to mpg, we got about 10 on our 500 mile return trip after trading in Florida. However, we are expecting to do a little better next time out as we won't be transporting home the entire contents of our 37 footer!
