How do you use your class A?

Thsnk you for the feedback. Interesting to better understand how different folks are using their coaches. It was interesting and helpful to me. Seems most are retired, some are close to retirement. I am 9 to 11years away but wondering how I can incorporate a little rv lifestyle into my life before than. A class A is prob more maintenance, expense and heft than would make sense for this stage in my life, I think.

Still have at least 10 years of full time employment in our future so coach use is weekends, a two week summer vacation and maybe a week out either spring time or in the fall. We try to get out every other weekend between Easter and Thanksgiving. About 50 nights and 6000 miles a year.

DW & I are in our 50s. We use our Class A to go to Oshkosh for 2 weeks every year. We make several 3-4 day trips to Branson, and lots of weekends at the lake(s). Thunderbird State Park is only 7-8 miles from the house.

We work full time and maintain an acreage, but still camp every weekend possible between March and November. This past year we camped 60+ nights, but this also included two, one week long vacations. We do our home chores during the week after work and pack the RV on Thursdays. We come home on Sundays and start all over again. We will retire and full time in under two years.

Full time, generally I spend the summer in MI and the winter in SC and spring and fall I do an 800 Mile "hike" between the two (Ok so it only takes 2-3 days to do the Hike)

I know that we are atypical, but when my retirement plan was dashed because they used the abrogation to liberate from this working guy about 28 years of scrimping saving and no great vacations, they did leave me with a little old Class A that I had used for my business.

It is now again a recreational vehicle. We can't afford a lot, but we manage to go to about an half a dozen rallies in a season. Some of which are type-specific and two or three music events. Then there are the occasional Whiskey Tango Foxtrot times that we just go. Like, "Lets go there and see it." times.

The great thing is that we own it, and so our out-of-pocket is only the cost of fuel and with GasBuddy, we keep that in control. We only buy a campsite when we have to and I dump and service at home. The coach fits in my barn and that is a good thing.

We both work full time. Coach is only used for (2) two week trips per year and all holiday weekends etc. We also have an awesome state park nearby & we sometimes move the coach there for a week & work from there.

Ours is still used as a camper for vacations. As we move towards retirement we (I) hope to use it for travel 3-4 months out of the year.

My wife and I recently bought a class A. We had a travel trailer for the previous 6 years. We both work long hours during the week and are basically weekend warriors. We take a week long trip somewhere twice a year and do at least 1 weekend trip a month. Many of the weekend trips are 3 or 4 day long weekends. We travel with 4 small dogs so having the Motorhome doesn't tie us down as we can take the dogs with us. I hated spending that much money on a new Class A that only gets used 30-40 days a year but we both work hard and being in the motorhome is such a relaxing way to take vacations and we love having our family with us (our dogs). We both make decent money and "You only live once" so we bit the bullet and bought a new motorhome 6 months ago. We absolutely love it.

We spend 4 months in ours as snow birds in Arizona, in the summer we take a couple of trips totaling about a month. I like the idea of having a small cottage along with our motorhome. The taxes on our house are starting to eat us up for the time we spend there.Things change as we age.
