Will I have any trouble with the shore power powering the 12V needs (like furnace!) without the batteries hooked up?

Yes, You have the Freedom combi (means Inverter/CHARGER). That means you HAVE to have a battery connected to allow the Freedom to do its job. Just leave a 12 volt battery on the ground and run 2 short battery cables to the ground and positive cable for the Inverter/Charger. OR, if you are positive it will take less than 1 day to do your repair, just shut down the RV for that amount of time. Doug
