How fast do you drive your rig?

I drive at 1630 rpm. that is 64 mph which is my sweet spot

I drive by my checkbook not my speedometer. I have a sweet spot at approx. 1,775 r.p.m.'s. That translates to about 63 1/2 on a level no wind road. Use economy mode on Alison to get there and stay there. Also use cruise as I have found this thing can drive itself better then I can.

I drive my rig most of the time at 60-65 mph.

Five to seven mph over the speed limit is usually the threshold for drawing a speeding ticket. That's my speed on the interstates. Must admit, now that 80 is becoming more common, I find myself conforming to the limit a bit more. Closing in on 90 is a bit much for me.

I run 60...Allison gets into 6th gear and the diesel just loafs along. Other considerations...tires are speed rated for 75 and the Honda CRV is rated for 65. Plus, anything above that and the mileage heads south.

We drive with the traffic. Out west, we have seen eighty a time or two but not intentionally. Kinda hard doing 65 or 70 even on an arrow straight, road, to the horizon, with just sand, brush and not much traffic and staying awake. What traffic there is passing you.

Being Texas I wouldn't be surprised, those cops there have NO mercy and they are greedy. I was working out there and my boss had a truck that wasn't insured pulled over two times on the way back to the farm and got nailed twice. I hate Texas highways and police that I would avoid that place like the plague. I wish the feds would pass laws against search and seizures as it is totally unamerican . After the dust settled I had to be responsible for the insurance for someone ELSE'S vehicle (another thing that needs to be outlawed) if I didn't get a real good lawyer I was looking at 2500 in fines (which also should be outlawed) Sorry I wouldn't be at all surprised if our people's republic of texas would indeed steal a motorhome from a person going only 6 over. wouldn't surprise me at all.

My coach's sweet spot is 59 to 60..... I generally set the cruise at 60 and enjoy conversation with my wife and the scenery..... to each his own but 80 in a motorhome pulling a toad..... my question would be "why?"

In good conditions on the interstate I aim for 60 but usually wind up going 65.
