We use our setup alot off-grid and needed a good always on 120VAC for several items we use all the time... I started out with a 150W PSW unit andkept wanting to add other small thing. I ended up geting a 600WAT Pure Sign Wave unit from Amazon for $159. I have mine wired in permantly inside a cabinet wall closes to the battery bank. I ran a 120V multihead extension cord for each of the two 120V outlets on the Power Inverter, One goes to the home entertainment area and the other one goes to bed nite stand...
Alot of items probably works just fine using a MSW type Power Inverter but to be safe and not have to worry about what electronics the grandkids might plug in I went ahead and got the Pure Sine wave model. They really don't cost that much more these days as the did in the past. Now I don't have to worry about anything I plug into the Power Inverter...
My 600W PSW Power Inverter is for the most part always on and directly connected to the battery bank main switch gear.
Great to have around when we need it. I usually don't go over 300WATTs running our things but every now and then have the extra power comes in handy... The Power Inverter doesn't draw much current being turned on and not running anything from it.
My two multi head 120V extension cords are hid behind cabinets etc and are out of sight... I have the multihead extension cords mounted on the back side of the cabinet/Table tops. These also have their own built-in ON-OFF Switch and breaker.
