Sep 23, 2013I just sold my motorhome after having it for sale for over 6 months. I had it listed in several free RV websites and Craigslist. I also bought an ad in RV Trader and didn't get one response. I kept lowering the price as time went by to be in line with identical units that were for sale by private parties across the country. Needless to say, dealers with identical units were asking considerably more than what I was asking for mine. I think the reason my moho took so long to sell was because it was only two years old and the cost was still too high for many buyers looking for a used RV.
Make sure you ads are very informative. Don't skimp on details and pictures. I had a link in my ads to a Photobucket album with 70 pictures of the motorhome. I also provided interested buyers with a copy of the build sheet.
You will get countless phone calls from companies claiming to have ready buyers for your RV or they can advertise it for you in several website for a fee in the hundreds of dollars. Don't waste your money or time with these scammers. Slam the phone in their ear if they call you.
Make sure to refresh and renew the Craiglist ads and use different geographical areas for more exposure. Don't forget to renew expired ads in the free RV websites as well.
Good luck!
