I would like to offer an opinion from a help user and not a helper. First let me say that if I see someone in need of help backing in I ask if I could be of assistance. Never been turned down. Now to my own situation. My wife learned early to be a super guide to me. Now she is handicapped and can no longer be of assistance. Since she no longer is able to help the first thing I do is get out and get a mental picture of the site. If some one offers to help I go over where I want to end up, where to stand so I can see them and what hand signals to use. I welcome the help.
The biggest issue I normally see with the renters is the co-pilot not knowing how to help. One of the ones I watched over the weekend had a site where they had to parallel park the motorhome into the site. The female helper was giving hand signals from a place where there was no way the driver could see her. He finally got out and pointed out to her that he couldn't see her and they eventually got it into the site. Then later on as the were hooking things up it was obvious the female half was the one that paid attention at the briefing because she had to show the male half how to do the hook ups.
And for the person worried about me watching, most of this I saw from my couch looking out the window.
