I'm pretty good at getting our 5'vr in/out of spots but one CG in upper NY State was a real bear to back into due to trees and narrow road........finally got it in after several tries.
As I was finishing setting up a very large MH pulled up and began maneuvering into the site next to us.
I asked the lady doing the spotting if they would like another spotter because of the trees and narrow road.......that's when I heard from the lady driving....."I was a bus driver for 30 yrs. I don't need your help!"
So I sat down in my comfy chair with a cold beverage and watched the show....she backed into a tree on drivers side, then banged into a tree with front bumper then torn off a window awning on drivers side as she attempted to back it in. Felt sorry for the spotter as she was being yelled at with language I only used in oil field.......all damage was on drivers side not blind side where spotter was.
I still offer help when it is obvious that help is needed BUT when they say NO Thanks....fine by me
And right there is what I'm worried about with helping out. If this lady hit the tree on the drivers side she was probably going to hit whether you helped or not. And if you were there helping she's going to be blaming you. And even though I used to be an insurance adjuster I never handled this type of situation so I don't know if you would have any liability or not. I'd hate to get sued because I tried to help somebody and they wrecked their unit.
