We now back in with DW at the wheel and me on the ground. I know where I want the coach and how to get it there. DW follows my hand signals well and we usually get it in on the first try. We pulled into the GS Rally in Syracuse and the parkers were going to provide guidance. I sat in the car and watched. DW followed their hand signals until it became clear they hadn't a clue! I parked the Jeep and got in position in her driver mirror and we greased it into the spot they were trying for easily.
I seldom offer to help others unless asked. We were gathering at a Tiffin Travelers Rally and our Secretary arrived travelling with a friend as her DH had died several months before. She asked for a ground guide and when none of the others standing around offered to help I volunteered. AS we got the coach almost aligned but in a precarious position everyone else chimed in with advice. I suggested that the driver would be confused trying to respond to more than one of us and I was willing to step out. The driver asked me to continue and ignored the others. 10 seconds later we had the coach spotted right where it belonged. I am used to giving directions to women at the wheel. Clear hand signals using the whole arm and no waving other than come along with one hand.
