Like anything mechanical anything can happen. I had a 5.9 Cummins with the famous #53 block fail and had a friend of mine who has a late model V10 Ford that was out of warranty and broke a couple of valve springs. Both jobs were expensive due to labor cost. So pick your poison and hope the odds are with you!
