How long for your air pressure to drop?

For those of you with air bags.....when you park your rig, how long does it take for you air bags to go down? I'm curious to hear. After two days or so, my coach is pretty much sitting on the stops. Does this indicate a small leak, or normal?

Thanks,

Jeff

    Same with my configuration.
  • On a slightly related note, my air shocks didn't leak a bit over the course of weeks.

On the other hand, (on my other hand, I have warts) my motorcycle tires can lose about 1 psi per day. Of course the rubber type is a big factor in this.

So, this doesn't answer the question nor is the advice correct. There are times I lower jacks and then deflate. How you level the coach is your preference.

    Jeff,

Yes, there is a small leak somewhere. Our coach will stay pumped up for weeks.

  • The air bags on my big truck normally leak out over the course of several hours. If it is windy and rocks your RV it can lower air pressure even quicker as the suspension wiggles. If your RV has air brakes you can try doing the air brake test the big rigs use to check for an air leak. Since the same air supplies the suspension and the brakes it will cover all the air system.

You should loose less than 2# in 1 minute when static per DOT.

120# nominal air pressure divided by 2 #/min = 60 minutes. Since you last a couple of days, you appear to be fine.
  • It does indicate an air leak. My MOHO often sits in the back yard for three weeks at a time with no noticeable loss in height.

  • I can't say.
If I know that I am going to be parked overnite, I just blow out all the air.
