I'm getting a zion(roadtrek promastr).
i will have to store away from the house.
anyone do this and have problems starting the van after-1 week,2 weeks,3 weeks etc.
if you have no outside power hookup do you use a solar battery tender
etc.
i will have no problem going once a week to start the van but i wonder if people go longer and can still start it without using other charge methods. thanks
You have a number of questions that are hard to answer. It seems as though the newer units have more "parasitic" battery drain versus the older models. My 2002 will sit in inside storage from September through May and start right up. Others have stated that they will have a weak battery in a matter of weeks. I do have 120V power available and a battery charger (with start boost) is there if I ever need it. Since mine is indoors, a solar charger would not work. They were available for almost nothing years ago when Japan shipped cars to the U.S. with solar chargers connected. They would give the chargers away. Here is one Portable Solar Panel Battery Charger 12V.
Should you decide that is not working, then a simple disconnect on your ground terminal for your chassis battery would be in order. One like this Battery Disconnect for top terminal.
