How long before it passes?

After you get thru this -- rinse those trays off, cans out etc before they go in the trash. It helps if the strong aroma isn't there calling to them.

Our beagle and our bigger brittany always find the longest blades of grass possible (6+ inches) and wolf them down. They a day later they need, how should I put it, a forward assist in getting it out.

The brittany also used to be bad about stealing socks and once we found one in the yard after he finished his duty, but he fortunately has lost interest in them.

The worst was when he swallowed some sort of large seed or nut and it did get lodged in the GI. The vet had some kennels with sheet metal sides where they hold the animals they treat. He was in one of them and before they were ready to take and work on him, apparently things started "moving" again. The vet said is sounded like a gun shot when it came out and hit the side of the kennel.

Oh, good. I'm so glad everything is "coming out" okay for you. Be careful with the mulch. Some of that stuff can be poisonous.

Our previously mentioned doxie was always in to something. Hopefully this is a "stage" for your pup and not a life long mission. Gets stressful, depending on what they get in to.

Yay... it's coming out in pieces. She must have shred it before she ate it. Now if I can only get her to stop taking clumps of my mulch! Goldens... you gotta love 'em! Thanks everyone. Agnes

From what I learned after we tried the peroxide method (and it didn't work), they are no longer recommending using that to make an animal vomit.

Our cat ate a rubberband and I think it was about two days before we found it.

Molly's sock eating resulted in two vacation incidents, now that I recall. The one was when she couldn't quite close the deal at the rest stop. The other was when she spit up a sock that must have been in there for weeks. GAck! In the motel room.

I will say that she'd had some symptoms. Not a loss of appetite but her GI tract had seemed just a little off for some weeks. Then suddenly, up it came and after that she was all better. But it was very subtle... I wasn't sure that I wasn't imagining until she chucked up that sock.

She was a perfect dog in every other way, but she would steal socks and pantyhose in a heartbeat and eat them whole. Once that started I had to get really careful about where my socks were. I had someone stay with me for a while that had an office job and we had to have a serious talk about pantyhose security measures.

No vomitting, no diarrhea, no loss of appetite, no weight loss. Just all of a sudden a big yak, and there was the chunk of corn cob. Smelled awful. I swear that dachshund had a death wish -- there was the nylon stocking, the corn cob, and then tree tinsel. All in one year's time. That year Santa Paws left a bottle of ipecac in her stocking.

We truly thought we were out of the woods, so to speak, by the end of a week without any problems.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..................... Mercury is in retro, but I've never heard of that causing dogs to eat wierd stuff before.
