Hello fellow RVers',Just out of curiosity how long does it take your diesel pusher to lose air pressure while parked? Our Dynasty will usually creep down from its average running pressure of 115 PSI to 30 PSI in about 7 days of sitting, roughly 10 PSI per day. How about the rest of you? Is my loss rate to fast? I really don't know what's normal. - Tom

Mine does about the same. I don't worry about it. The pressure is up by the time I pull in the slides, retract the jacks and get ready to move. If it went down while parked for lunch, that's another matter.Bill

I have an onboard air compressor that kicks in from time to time to pump the pressure back up to minimum limits that keeps everything where it should be. I have it set to keep only 60 psi in the system as that keeps the tag in place and the air lock on the front door working. I always assumed that most RV's with air systems had separate air compressors as it would be necessary to keep the RV level if air bags was the only leveling system (like mine). I currently have a larger than normal air leak that causes the aux tank to leak down in a couple of hours when parked and I have had to turn off the compressor to keep it from burning up! Just need to find time to get it on a lift and find the leak.

Prevosts are a little different than a regular coach as we have a LOT of air supported parts.Some Prevosts have:-air dump valves-air bed lifts-air outdoor grille slides-air doors-air front door locks-air driver seat-air horns-generator air bags-air engine bag belt tensioners ETC....We can go about 4 hours before the air compressor comes on (runs for 1.5 min). It fills the air seals for the fours slides, 2 air doors, air dump valves, belt tensioners, etc. Our Dynasty never lost air but I did notice towards the end that a compressor would come on occasionally. It had air leveling AND hydraulic legs. Safe travels,MM.

You got that right and always do make sure I have the clearance needed, when it's resting on it's wheels. I'm not a very large person, anyway, so can just about crawl under anything like that.

Tropical36, please never get under an unsupported coach. Even if you are using the levelers, support the coach with the correct jack stands at the correct support points. You do not want to risk the coach coming down on you.

Only my one tank goes down and after a couple of days. The other stays put and have no idea for how long, but have never seen it lose air.
I have hyd. levelers only, which automatically dump the air bags, when actuated. I've never been able to manually dump air with the cockpit switch and don't know if I'm not doing something right, with being locked out or if it just doesn't work.
I also need to try the lynards out for releasing air and checking for moisture.
Best not to get down under there, I guess, but actually shouldn't hurt a thing with the hyd. jacks holding it, or........maybe I'm missing something here.

Mine takes about 20- 30 seconds but than again I dump for overnighters and anytime it is parked for any length of time. Makes getting in and out so much easier. Only takes a minute or two to be back up to 125 psi and it takes me that long to get buckled in and ready.

When I had my DP, I always dumped the air before leveling, made for a lower step and mostly dry camp so I was always on uneven ground.

Also you don't need air to hold the E/parking brake, it is actually the removal of air that actuates the brakes, so if you were to loose air pressure running down the road you wouldn't loose braking, you would lock the brakes.

It's nearly impossible for a "Leak free" coach, air that is. Some, are sealed up a bit better than others. Ours for instance, is an '04 Itasca Horizon 36GD with the CAT C-7 330HP. If I park it with 125 psi in the tanks on 09:00 in the morning on Friday, the pressure will be down to about 100 at 09:00 on Saturday. I've taken the time to creep around under the big girl and spray for leaks.
So far, I've only found one and tightened it up. But, I still have some leaks. Oh well, it is what it is. The compressor does a fine job of quickly building it back up when it comes time for us to move the coach.

My air dump is connected to my Bigfoot levellers. When I deploy the auto level the air dumps automatically. Then it levels.
If I don't use the jacks the air drops to around 60psi in a couple of days.

We were just talking about installing a cover for the air brake knob because of the dogs. . Thanks for the reminder Mr Mark.

Maybe it's just habit but I dump our air every time I park. I don't do the brake pump thing, I just hit the manual dump valve.

Jim, do you have the plastic protection cover over your air brake knob? We did not have one on the Dynasty so I alway put a clothes pin on it so it couldn't be pushed down or bumped by accident. There were no kids or dogs in our coach.

Our coach now has the plastic cover where you have to lift the lid to push or pull the air brake knob.

Yea, we dump as well when camping but my observations were while it's parked, but not leveled. I like to dump them down nearly all the way when camping so it's less distance for me to fall out of the doorway the next morning. - Tom
