We've seen lots of nearly new high end rigs (typically class A or big 5th wheels) for sale.
When we hear the backstory, it's usually someone with little or no experience camping/RV'ing retiring with the idea of traveling long term only to find they don't like it.
Obviously, this doesn't explain every situation but it does seem to be a pattern.
