My question of you is "how often do you change cars"? My DW still drives a 03 Lexus 430 and I'm still driving my 02 F350 PU, the only new vehicles I've ever bought. Having grown up RVing and having about every type of used RV there is I plan on keeping this MH until I age out... hopefully another 15 years. The MH was six months old and at that time the only way to get four slides... otherwise I would have bought several years old. Since you are going to be half timers I do not see RVing something you will tire of... she may be more of a problem based on some of your first questions.
Have a friend that changes vehicles almost every year. He got into RVing 13 years ago and he wanted a fifth wheel which I helped him find a year old and at a good price. A year later mainly because he traveled with those of us with Class As he had to have one as we were kicking back a cool one while he was still setting up the 5er. He actually sold the 5er at a slight profit and I found him a nice used Beaver MH that had the electronic stripped from it... actually a plus as he was able to replace with digital TVs. 18 months later he sold it a slight profit because he did not like the sitting/steering position and bought a 05 F550 super C with a 6.0 powerstroke engine. Kept it about 18 months and I encouraged him to sell it before everyone learned you have to pull the cab off of the Fords to work on the terrible 6.0 engine which is impossible with the cab over super C. Couple years later he bought a fairly new Airstream TT and that lasted 18 months. Sold it at a profit or so he always says??? I would say he's out of RVing and now you know why I asked the question about cars.
