DW and I discussed doing the fulltime gig when I retired out of the Navy a few years back. We looked at different platforms and MANY different floor plans. Went to RV shows and oohed and ahhed at this and that. Through one of those shows we ended up getting a free weekend at a private RV resort.
Just spending one weekend in that resort sealed the deal for me...
not to become a fulltimer. I grew up in tents and small TT's. "RVing" to me always meant camping/fishing/hunting, not staying in a park. Thus, we bought a house in the mountains of CO that most people would consider "boon docking" yet we still camp/fish/hunt with our TT.
I have no desire to travel as I spent most my life doing that. 47 states and 28 countries. I'm more interested in seeing my home state these days to be honest.
Just glad we spent that weekend, and it only took a weekend, in that park to make our minds up before we invested more than we paid for our house and land!
