How Many Dollars to Go Residential

Would like to hear the dollar amount to take the Nevercold thru the front window (one piece), replace with a residential, make the necessary inverter and battery change to make it all work. I assume there would be some cabinet work regardless of coach. This would be an '09 CC Inspire, kitchen forward floor plan.

Thanks for any input. Purchase of coach may hang in the balance.

  • I had my conversion done two years ago. I replaced the Inverter with pure sign wave ($3,000 installed) for a different reason after the install. Refrigerator was $1300 from Lowes and installation was $1800 at remodel facility.
  • We have a Samsung RF197, they brought it in through the drivers side window.
Like kdk said no extra batteries required and the modified SW inverter works fine.

Best update we've done so far.
  • Don, I own a 06 holiday rambler ambassador and removed a norcold 1200 lrim out the entrance door by removing the refer doors, the front seats and the entrance door. The entrance door came off with about a dozen screws which was quite easy but very heavy. We installed a Samsung 24 1/2 cu ft side by side ($1200 at Lowes on sale) which also went in the entrance door. The Samsung also weighed less than the norcold. I did not add any more house batteries (have 4 Trojan 6 volt) because these new refers are very efficient. I can go about 18 hours on battery power without running the generator. The engine recharges the batteries and provides power when driving. The Samsung refers will also run on a modified sign wave inverter, so no need for pure sign wave inverter. PM me if you have any questions.

  • A CC does NOT need any extra batteries or an inverter, so forget those cost. My total cost for a Samsung rf197, the complete removal and install was under $2000 and that included the modifications needed because of the furnace under the Nocold. Best $2000 modification we ever made. PM me Don if you want specifics.
  • Batteries at 150 each, inverter at 200, refer at 5-6 hundred.
Are you positive you cant get in and out the door?
