How many of you simply don't bother with hookups?

The other issue is you don't want to pull down your batteries lower than 50% charge state and not re-charge right away. This starts an irreversible damage to your battery bank when you do this.

We work hard at never letting our batteries drop below 12.0VDC which is close to the 50% charge state.
