If $20,000 isn't a big deal to you, buy another new one when the old one needs maintenance........
We live in Alaska and park the DP where ever we get done traveling and want to head home for a while. When maintenance is due we'll find someone where we're at. The MH is parked in Vancouver, WA at the moment, but will soon be moved to Phoenix for a while, then the next trip out after that will be to Mardi Garx and then parked someplace down there. In the spring we'll pick it up again and do the east coast and park it in the Minnesota area for the winter.
I wouldn't worry about buying from a local dealer. I would try to find a good local service place. All of our work is done at Freightliner or a generic RV service place - not a dealer.
