How often do you drive your RV?

Since 2006 when we first bought a PW Excel, I have made sure to drive our RV at least every 3 weeks or so. I want to warm up the tires, run the generator, shift the transmission thru all gears, run the AC, etc. We keep it under covered storage. I replaced the Excel with a PW Pursuit last year and have continued to do the same.

I am curious as to what other owners do. Thanks for any feedback.

I try to make sure it gets to go out and run around every 2-4 weeks. This ends up being loaning it to people who need to haul something, more often than driving it myself, when I am at my S&B.

When camping in one spot, I run the engine for half an hour every couple weeks, but I don't make an effort to find reasons to drive it. It's a bother to tie things down, get the library off the dashboard, etc. It might sit for 6 weeks sometimes.
  • I take our Class A out the first of every month for about a 20 mile drive. It is enough to lube everything well and get the tires warmed up.
  • Even as easy as the Class B's are, they're not driven much. I am looking for a 2006 Sprinter-based B now and those with only 50k miles or so are readily available.
