Sorry to hear that. As for me, I'm a newbee in regards to MH. I bought my first MH about a month ago. It's a 1997 Thor Residency 36.5 ft. Driving it for the first time was a real challenge. Anyways, I just turned 40 and the wife and I are planning on taking the 3 kids (10, 9 and 3 months) on a 4 week camping trip this summer. You'll do fine. Don't let the horror stories sway your decision to have fun. I always preferred state and national parks with my kids. I did not want the competition of game rooms and other detractions tugging at their attention spans. Now they are both grown and love the outdoors and nature.
Wherever you go make a list of things you needed things you wanted and things to leave out next time. And remember if you really need it we are never more than 50 miles from a store.
