These same people that wouldn't accept a small imperfection on a huge motorhome, demanding another coach over a screw hole from the inside, are the same ones who will immediately buy exterior screens for the windshield and fasten them with screws...:S..
@ the OP...from your post it sounds like the screw protruded from the inside to the outside. Several questions come to mind if that was the case...
1. Did the screw penetrate the exterior wall? If not, have it fixed and move on.
2. Was the screw still in place when you found it? If so, I wouldn't worry about any water intrusion.
3. Does the exterior wall where the screw was/is show a "volcano" effect? This might make a repair more difficult.
Regardless of the answers above, this can be fixed easily by one of the "paintless dent" guys for less than $100. You will never be able to see where the screw was....Dennis
