I would recommend sitting down with the dealer and just having a heart to heart chat. Basically tell him that you have surveyed all kinds of ideas of how it should be dealt with - spit out a few possibilities, but no hint at numbers or discounts. Then put the ball in the dealer's court. Let him come up with the first move. Kind of like if you ever watch the show pickers, they always try to get the seller to make the first statement of price. Then they work the negotiation from that point of reference. You want to do the same thing, so you have something to work off of. If you had not known any history, and this was a coach sitting on the lot, if you happen to notice a pop rivet 7 feet up on the side of the coach, you would probably just stop for a half second, wonder why it was there and then forget about it. Its really only because you know the history behind the hole that this even comes up for discussion.
