A friend had a clever idea. He installed a mirror avove the rear window at a 45-degree angle, then positioned a computer-compatible wi-fi camera on the wall looking up at the mirror. He then used his lap-top computer on the top of the dashboard to look at the wi-fi picture. Since the camera was looking into a morror, the typical right/left issues were by-passed. Best thing was, nothing in the system had to be weather-proof.
On my GT, there's a monohrome camera outside, and a monitor on the dash. Monochrome is fine for me - I don't need to know the color of the car following me.
