How to wax the cab hangover

I climb onto the roof and reach over like the other guy said.

Open the hood, use a 6' ladder and stand on the radiator rail. Reach what you can from above.

I use a Little Giant 26' ladder split into 2 Scaffold trestles and a Little Giant 10-16 work plank. Not as elegant nor simple as that mentioned in the last two and some of the earlier replies, but since it is what I have around, it works. I also use these along with my Megalite M17 ladder that I carry in the rig for waxing the upper sides and rear cap.

That's the same ladder I use. And, I put blocks under legs on each end also. Works great! Didn't realize they were no longer available.

Some of these comments are getting a bit off topic. My current thoughts on waxing the cab is to use a painter's extension pole with a flat "paint applicator" at the end that painters use on walls when a roller is not appropriate. i am thinking about putting a rag around it to apply wax. after the wax drys, i plan to put a fresh rag around paint applicator to buff it. i plan to do this this coming weekend and will post my results.

Thanks, Steve...I'll try what you suggested. I had put a 2x6...3' piece...and it helped going down...but going up, those wheels really made groves in the street. I bet the plywood will do it...I have seen thick pieces at Home depot. I'll let you know how it goes! Marsha

I borrowed a walking plank from a contractor friend, and set two 12ft ladders, then set the plank at the bottom of the overhang and was able to machine compound, and wax from the top of of the roof cap to the bottom, and side to side.

I know this is a little late, but didn't have internet where we were camping.

For example... like a 8 foot length of 2x4 with a strip of 12" wide plywood on top.

And get other peoples advise too.

My drag wheels get a workout, too. Maybe because I don't carry as much air in my air bags as they recommend. Have tried it but don't like the floaty feel in the handling.
