Doubt I can actually help, but I can still ask you to clarify:
INVERTER: Makes 120VAC from 12VDC to operate appliances that would otherwise need Shore Tie or Generator - These use battery, don't charge it
CONVERTER: Makes 12VDC from 120VAC to operate lights, appliance logic boards and small fans that would otherwise run from the House Battery - Takes over for the Battery when you connect to shore tie or run the generator
CHARGER: Makes 12VDC from 120VAC to recharge the House Battery when you connect to shore tie or run the generator
Not all of us have an Inverter, and most of us have an integrated Converter/Charger device.
Where do you believe the problem is?
