That choice is not yours. You will be given a settlement and you will need to proceed from there. No one cares about your improvements. They are not a part of your insurance unless you contacted your insurance company to add specific modifications.
I really do feel for you but I have done many modifications to my 1988 Prevost and if a similar thing happened to me I would get the exact "agreed value" and not a single dime more.
