Huntsville?

This summer I need to go to Huntsville to drop off a couple of kids at space camp. I looked and they do have a camp ground on site but they do not have 50 amps. In the middle of summer I will need all the power I can get to keep my rv cool. I have found by asking here I can get a much better chance of a nice place then lookin on rv park reveiws. What are my options? I will be coming from Louisiana.

If you have two air conditioners in your setup perhaps you can wire one unit to a separate 20AMP cable and plug it into the 20AMP Service on the camp ground pedestal.

I do this all the time with portable oil filled electric heaters... On a couple of long stay outings I have brought along a 8000BTU Window unit from the house and plugged that into the camp ground pedestal... Just sit it in a RV window after we setup.

We always use GOOGLE MAPS on the road and search for RV PARKS along the way. Usually find alot of camp grounds this way - click on the site for more info...

    just a thought...

  • Check out Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville. It is a nice setting on top of a mountain and is about 15 minutes from the space camp. Enjoy as Huntsville is a nice city and the space and Rocket Center is a fantastic experience.
  • Check out RV Parky for RV parks in the area and the facilities they offer. It's also available on your smartphone as an app.
  • If your are retired military the base has nice places to stay also with full power.
  • what about a nice easy in and out along the way on 59/20???
