I am surprised that Florida hasn't started calling for evacuations yet, or at least a time table to evacuate. Hopefully over the weekend they will. When we had to evacuate for Hurricane Matthew, we loaded up and headed west on US 82. Lots of Floridians right there with us. We ended up in Albany, GA at Cheehaw State Park.
There is a Walmart in Tifton, GA that had about 30+ RVers that spent the weekend. We stopped there on our way back home and ran into a few. I talked to one of the evacuees who told me the sheriff's office was there handing out blankets and water. Other local business owners brought pizza, donuts, etc. We were happy to have the motorhome with generator when we got home since power was out for another 2 days.
Stay safe and get out early.
