HWH hydraulic cylinder switch

I have an HWH 625 system with straight cylinders. At the bottom of the cylinder, there is a switch that looks like a pressure switch, since it connects to the cylinder via pipe. These cylinders are spring return to the up position and therefore do not have hydraulic pressure on this side of the piston.

So, is this a pressure switch?

What is its purpose and when does it come into play during leveler operation?

Thanks-- I am just curious.-- Mick
  • Yes, it indicates to the control panel that that jack is extended.
It does not come into play for leveling. Leveling is through a sensor mounted under the rig normally mid-ship.
  • IF this switch is on the BOTTOM side of the cylinder and has only 1 wire on it, it IS a pressure switch. This switch tells the system when the jack has actually touched the ground. If you are talking about the switch on TOP of the cylinder with 2 or 3 wires, that is the down switch that turns on the RED led on the touchpad for that jack. Doug
