HWH jacks not leveling properly.

Doug, no, the excess slope light is not on in my case.

Doug...thank-you for any explanations and information that you can give. I'm always willing to learn as much as I can about all the systems.
I don't know if you saw my other post about the outlet pipe on the turbo, but right now my MH is in a shop because a couple of air lines have holes melted in them from the extreme heat behind the turbo.

The jack that went too high probably has a BAD pressure switch. Excess slope does NOT mean the unit is way out of level. Excess slope means that 1 jack has fully extended and cannot extend anymore to level the RV. So, IF one of the yellow lights for that jack corner was ON, then one of those jacks will continue to extend until it reaches its full stroke. Once that happens the Excess slope comes on and shuts the system down. IF the yellow lights went out and one jack continues to extend until the stroke is reached and the excess light comes ON, that is an indication that jacks pressure switch is defective. This switch(on each jack) is what tells the system the jack has contac with the ground. Doug

Doug....yes, the excess slope light was on, but it leveled it way too high on the low sloping side. The rear tires were off the ground a few inches on that side.

You are lucky. I think mine got wet from the dash air condensation dripping on the box. I get conflicting level lights (i.e. both left and right side showing low. After drying out, I still have the problem. Troubleshooting guide says it is a bad controller.

Thanks Doug for the explanation about the sensors. I will look tomorrow and see if I can see which one I have.

Thanks to the other posters for the good advice. I tapped the auto level button today and it leveled the motorhome perfectly. Apparently when the connections got saturated with water in the heavy rain, it caused an electrical malfunction. After several days of hot weather, the connections have dried out and everything is back to normal.

I'm just glad that the levelers are working properly and it didn't cost many $$$$ to fix.

Frtliner chassis has nothing to do with the HWH system.
1. There are 3 different level sensors used by HWH. Yours is 11 years old.
2. The older is the silver mercury filled sensor
3. The one between the Silver and the current is a black sealed box about the size of a cigarette pack
4. The current is located in the Plexiglas cover at the HWH pump assbly. I am not positive when they went to the Plexiglass outside control assbly mounted on the pump assbly. But, it is easy to figure out. Go to the HWH pump and if you do NOT see the control mounted to it with a clear plexiglass cover you have the older system. The 2 older systems use 3 spring mounted screws to hold and adjust the sensor. The Plexiglass control has the sensor mounted inside that control box and is adjusted at the Plexiglas area on the side. No screws on this one. Doug

"hotjag1"......Climb into your center bay and look up between the frame rails. It will be a black box as I described. I believe it had three twist nuts on top. I need to adjust mine, just haven't gotten to it yet.
