You can power wash the Cylinders with no problem. What you do is clean to make sure there is no dirt or debris on the springs or cylinders. HWH does recommend that you WIPE the exposed cylinder after cleaning to make sure ALL debris is cleaned off. As to your problem, 1999 you do not have an exposed control box, so washing did not cause the problem. As much as I hate to say this, CHECK the ground lugs at the HWH motor pump. There is a bolt with the common grounds attached. Make sure those white ground wires are secure and tight. Doug
