Hydraulic HWH Jacks in 2007 Damon Daybreak

I am having an issue with my jacks shutting down when the system is hot. When I have been driving the motorhome and park, deploy the jacks, they will start to deploy just fine and will work for roughly 10 seconds. I will hear a click in the engine compartment and jacks will no longer function, as if an overheating sensor is shutting the system down. The jacks will not retract either. The lights continue to operate on the control panel, but the jacks do nothing. When it sits overnight and has time to cool off, the jacks operate just fine. One item I should mention, is that I do not deploy the jacks with the engine on. The service technician told me today that I should be deploying the jacks while the engine is running. As suspected, the service technician at the shop today, cannot replicate this ongoing and frustrating problem despite the fact that I demonstrated a problem with the system last evening to another technician. His explanation for the problem I described is that I was hitting the buttons too fast and confusing the computer. Has anyone had these issues with their jacks?

  • Check for a resettable breaker powering the HWH jack motor.

So, check voltage at the HWH jack motor when they are operating properly. Then check again when they don't.
  • There is NO heat or overheat sensor on any HWH jacks system. The "click" you hear is probably some type of 12 volt circuit breaker that is indeed reacting to the hot temps in the engine area due to the hi amp draw of the HWH pump. Some OEM's will install a hi amp over 150amp circuit breakers on some RV's. You need to trace the battery cable from the HWH pump to its source and see if it is on a Circuit breaker. Engine on or off really makes no difference. Hitting the buttons too fast is also nonsense. Doug

I should have stated 75 amp or over. Some OEM's use a low 75 amp which is way too low for most hydraulic pump systems. Doug
