If you are in Oregon, Hearst Castle is a must see. I like architecture so Frank Lloyd Wright homes are always at the top of my list. Hollyhock house in Hollywood is neat to see.
It depends if you are going to swing south or go midway through the USA, Las Vegas is fun and the Las Vegas Motorcoach is the best place to stay. Many restaurants to pick from.
Frank Lloyd Wright has a compound called 'Taliesin West' in Scottsdale, AZ, it was an architectural school/home for he and his students. Biosphere 2 (earth is Biosphere 1) is also a must see in Oracle, AZ.
You will have a very full schedule!
