I travel that way often. Be careful about 6 or 8 miles in SC as you cross the river from Augusta. SC trooper like to set in the median looking for violators - not that any of us RV types would be speeding ;)

the biggest hill is red top mountain at cartersville. you're be fine!

Take it easy and enjoy the drive! Lock the tranny going up the mtns!

I drove route 20 in October....heavy duty construction was going on at that time....

You don't go THRU Florence, you bypass it by continuing on I95 for a few miles and there is a turn off to Myrtle Beach that goes around Florence. You can you through Florence but I do not recommend it.

You'll have no problems with mountains, but you will need to set your clock back 20 years as you go through Florence!

We live in Augusta. No big mountains, it is a nice drive with small rolling hills with lots of pine trees to the flat lands of the coast. Depending on the time of day (and/or crazy drivers), the Atlanta interchanges can be fun..Columbia,SC interchanges are not too bad, we have not had a problem going through there. We've been to Huntington Beach once and really enjoyed our stay.
