We are currently in AZ and will be heading north at end of March
up to Moab and hopefully
across I-70 from Grand Junction thru Denver.
Concerned about what weather/snow might be
like in early April thru that area.
I figure it could be anything from nice to nasty.
Any thoughts?
Might just wimp out and take southern route across NM, TX, OK and KS....
THANKS
First off Great Time to be in Utah!
4runnerguy's info on Moab - https://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/29448394.cfm - This will fill in the blanks in Moab.
I-70 from Moab to Denver - Most likely will be Great! - BUT.........it could still get you into some snow so look to this - CDOT cameras - before you go to Vail Pass and Eisenhower - Just move around and find the area you are in -
CDOT linkhttp://www.cotrip.org/map.htm#/default?StillCameraId=10829
Couple of notes on the trip, Usually the road is Clear and if not just wait a day or two, some Beautiful side trip to be had in the Winter. Just past Idaho Springs if you can remember take the LEFT hand Exit #244 to RT 6 will take you through the Canyon along Clear Creek to Golden - Beautiful - Always cleared, the Casinos are just up the road, so they take Good Care of the Road, and one of my great drives in Colorado.
Please Do not Wimp Out - those Rocks are just Spectacular with their Whites on - I'll just drive the Toad up to see them when ever we are there in the Winter - Spectacular!
IMHO this will be Great - go for it - just keep an eye on the weather.
Best of Luck,
Edit - Weekend traffic can be worse than the Snow - Keep that in Mind.
