I am giving away a Splendide Washer/Dryer combo

I want to get rid of a Splendide 2000s washer/dryer combo that I inherited in a used Class A motorhome I recently purchased. I know that I will never use it and really would like to reclaim the space it is taking.

I will donate free of charge on a first come basis. All I require is that you help me take it out. I don't think this will be too difficult. I've never used it and don't know much about it but was assured by my dealer at time of purchase that it did indeed work. Judging by the overall condition of the coach in general and the TLC that is apparent throughout I suspect this is a very functional working unit.

Here is a link to a spec sheet I found online:

I realize that this offer means you have to live reasonably close or be willing to travel here. I just hate to just ditch the appliance as it is in such good shape.

  • Wish I where closer, just spent $415.00 for a motor + labor. Wish I had just replace it with a new one.

  • Wow we sure could use the WD combo and would love to work something out.
Send me a pm with your info.

    Thanks
  • I would love to take you up on your offer and would be more than willing to help with the removal, unfortunately I am in Houston and no way I can come to NO for a few days at the present time. (Family, holidays etc get in the way).
  • Yes, it should just be electric and the only other possible connections are hot and cold water, the drain and possibly the vent hose, if it is a vented model. Some are unvented. I think I have the 2000s and it is vented.

Question is, will you be able to get back there to disconnect everything? In my rig it is right next to the closet and there is a false wall in the closet. Take out a few screws and that comes out so you can reach behind the unit to disconnect everything. Again, depends on how your rig is laid out.
  • I haven't heard of anyone having a gas Splendide so hopefully you don't have to worry about that at all.

The unit is kinda heavy. I started to slide it out by myself then realized it was pretty hefty. But it is in a cabinet fairly easy to get to. Its in the general bath area between the bedroom and kitchen and two people can get one on either side. I'm not too concerned about getting it out. Only thing I don't know is how the LP gas is hooked to it. I'm assuming (certainly HOPING) that there is a cutoff valve right there in the cabinet against the wall where I can just turn it off once we slide the unit out. I've already turned off the water lines and detached them.

My dryer runs off electric, I think most are electric.

    Terry.

  • Just realize that thing weighs close to 200 pounds and can be hard to handle. Is the cabinet it is in located in such a way that a person can get on either side of it?

For example, mine is in a cabinet in the back corner of the rear bath behind the toilet. I have had it out several times for DIY repairs. I made a platform out of plywood and 2x4's to slide it out on to work on it. This would also make it easier to maneuver so that two people could get a grip on it to totally remove it.

Just something to consider to make the job easier, depending on how your rig is laid out.
  • That's a very nice offer. We love ours and use it most everyday. I hope you are able to give it to someone who will appreciate it.
  • That's nice of you. Hopefully someone in the area has hookups in their rig and can use it. Hopefully someone doesn't take it for free and just turn around and sell it.
