I think the seats are fine for dining or playing cards.
In fact, I can see sitting on that ottoman, facing out for hours enjoying the view, as the best seat in the house.
I suppose if you wanted a sofa, you could make the bed into more of a day bed with some big cushions.
Other than watching a wee bit of TV in the evening (maybe), I spend my time outside either doing something or sitting in a folding chair.
