My guess is that CW took this camper as a trade in.

They told the owner they were giving them $xxx in trade.

In reality they gave the customer $zero.

In order for a third party to buy it wholesale, and sell it retail, and make $500 for their time, the vehicle has to be worth $500 to start with. That is questionable in this case.

So CW put it out there hoping someone would give them a couple hundred dollars to take it off their hands.

It makes perfectly good business sense to me.

No, it's not pretty, but for being the age it is (over 40 years) it looks usable...someone would be happy to get that rig, fix it and have some fun. Like another poster said, not everyone can afford a newer rig and some who could would rather not. The pictures are honest portrayals of the MH and its condition...don't see a problem there.

Well said! Most fancy new big rigs are financed.
At least these guys are willing to put it in their lot. Most wouldn't.

Somebody will be happy to own it and good for them.

Really, just clean out the tire and trash, some cleaning and shining and it would look fine. I hope someone looking for a good deal and doesn't mind a little elbow grease gets this rig. As long as everything works (here's where the elbow grease might come in handy), I think it's fine:)

I never understood the 10 year rule? Are people with small wallets and no debit not allowed to have fun? I mean I get not wanting a rig with tar all over the roof and missing windows, but if it's nice and old, so what?
There is a park that I grew up going to and have since changed ownership a while back and they now have a 10 year rule, I can't even drive my 11 year old Toyota on the ground to reminisce about the past, oh and my Toyota looks brand spanking new!

What is to fix up? Just a good cleaning and go have fun. It will blend in with nature far more than a new monster RV with custom paint. I assume the buyer would not even consider camping in a resort with a ten year rule so no worries.

My first impression was that nobody cared to tidy up the unit at all. Looks like the pictures were almost staged to show the unit in the least flattering way. Wouldn't have taken much to present it in a more favorable light. Move the tire, clear out the garbage, etc

I agree. It looks useable as is, and I think it would make a great MH if restored.
