Old tires are stiff, new tires give smoother ride for a while. Tires are damaged just sitting parked for months and years, need to be driven frequently and covered when parked to protect from sun/weather damage. Lucky you didnt have a tire come apart and steel belt slash holding tanks, propane lines or wiring underneath your rig.
