I had a major issue with my cable driven main slideout. Every trip the same cable would break. I took it to the local HR dealer at the time...they had it for four weeks and did not fix it. Next I tried two different repair facilities. Repairs were paid for by Monaco but not much luck in getting it fixed for long. Then Monaco closed up and I was on my own. I posted here and a member here (BalJohn) who works for BAL-Norco the makers of the Accuslide slideout contacted me. We made arrangements for me to take the coach to Elkhart and a friend of mine, with the same coach as mine, traveled with us. BAL techs met us at Elkhart Service and Collision where they repaired our problems. That was three and a half years ago and the fix has lasted until a few weeks ago when I had to replace a cable after repairing a slide out leak. But that is another story.
The point is...the dealer might not be able to handle this repair. You may have better success with the slideout factory techs handling this problem. I suspect they want their product to work and should offer the same level of service of BAL, the company that they compared themselves to in their video. If they can't do that then they should not be claiming that their slideout is better than the "outdated cable driven" one.
Interesting you had and are continuing to have issues with your Monaco. That just cracks me up cause I did a little Google earth tour to where the Thor factory is that specifically produces the Palazzo. Guess where it is??? In the exact same old Monaco Factory! Some things never change.
Yes, there have been issues, but that is part of owning a coach, no matter what you paid for it. I have a friend who has a 1.5 million dollar Prevost, and he said he wanted to set it on fire because he was tired of all the problems when it was brand new. He stuck it out though. Just like me...no intentions of trading because right now it all works. I do need new slide out toppers..its always sumptin!
