- et2ExplorerWe've owned two Thor products over the years. Each one cosmetically looked great. However they were the worst in dependability and mechanically sound rigs we've owned in our 35 years of RVing. There wasn't a trip we didn't have one or more problem arise with the RV. They are the Walmart's of RV manufactures. They will never be in our short list.
- kokosfriendExplorerOk, I am a happy owner of a 2014 palazzo. Yes, there was a problem with the slide motor and it was complicated to fix until I got up to Elkhart. Now it works smooth. It takes lubing the slide and cleaning the track. Other makers have also had problems with the new slide including Winnebago. Thor has been very responsive and helpful. I love the rig and the lay out. Good mileage and lots of extras I love.
Barb - hankoExplorerMy buddy Got a new 37 ft Chalenger in May. I was pretty surprised that Thor put that big coach on a 22,000 lb chasis. I know what my 36 ft Open road weighs, I would assume the chalenger is close. The Paint job was the worst Ive seen on any coach, in fact I found out the its back at the factory for numerous repairs the dealer couldnt handle and to be repainted. I was appaled at the inside and out side, and if it were me. I wouldnt have driven that coach off the lot. Im parked next to a couple in and Ace, and they seem happy with out to many issues.

Here we go, Thor bashing rekindled. A lot of us Love our Thor products. And I can factually say that EVERY manufacturer has had their share of issues. The Palazzo is a bit of a mess, specifically with the full wall Schwintek slides. But to say all Thor products are bad is simply not true. I have seen first hand issues on FW, Tiffin, Newmar, FR, Winnie, all of them. And as far as quality goes I would challenge anyone to enter any new MH without knowing what brand you are in and tell me the manufacturer. I walked through a Newmar a few weeks ago searching for this holy grail of quality. What I found was loose, faux metal plastic faucets, wall trim coming loose, veneer luann cabinet walls, cheap glides, bubbles in the flooring, etc. The EXACT same quality of every other brand if not worse. Pretty much the same story on the Winnie next to it. Felt better about my Thor upon leaving.
I don't see any bashing. Just a lot of people with unresolved major issues.
Really? things like "run away from all Thor products"??? And it's not just this post, it's pretty much anytime anyone mentions a Palazzo, it becomes a brand issue. I've read the posts. Perhaps you missed them.
I agree. You can't blame the whole Thor line because of Palozzo problems. I was hours away from buying one. I really liked the lay out and to get a DP for that price was tempting. I don't know what's going on with the slide problems. As I understand many other companies are now using the same slide but there's not much talk about issues with them. I believe they are trying to remedy the situation but a lot of damage control will be needed to get buyers confidence back. - EffyExplorer II
