The Schwintek system is definitely the crux of the matter here...... Just one replacement of these has created a domino effect of other issues which needs to be addressed by body work and paint. That is totally unacceptable.
Yes, to a large degree, the Schwintek system is the crux, but what I saw and experienced was a total more a lack of quality control and a corporate attitude that rams a patch job down your throat and calls it fixed. After the techs at CW replaced the Schwintek tracks, Mine was still so bad, they had to fly in a factory "expert" to identify the problems. We've been RVing for over 27 years, starting with a new '87 Toyota Dolphin. I'd had the unit for three years and was living in it full time due to a late career military assignment before I had to take it to the shop. The Thor was out fifth unit, the third Class A and was only the second unit at the time that we bought new. My punch list for the Thor quality control issues far exceeded all other units added together. As stated in an above post, I by the time I got the unit back, I had totally lost faith in the units ability to provide reasonably long term worry free service and Thor itself.
