I think all of us to a certain extent have become lax to the RV industry. After all, these are luxury items for most, maybe a necessity for others. But this has made us settle and accept what they give us. I think this is one reason why the RV industry is so different in so many ways than other industries especially the auto industry. I know there are way more cars and trucks on the road than RV's, but still, that doesn't make it right.
Isn't funny how Americans are great consumers known for boycotting products and services, calling their local news channel hotline to resolve issues, posting on social networks like Facebook, but when it comes to our rvs, for some unknown reason, we let the industry get away with it. People try to stave off complaints by saying a motorhome is a complicated piece of machinery. I have a 24ft TT, we love the layout, couldn't be happier so far. It has its issues but in terms of construction, it's a piece of &^%#! Americans are famous for suing each other. Not sure why we don't go after the industry with personal or class action suits.
Just like the auto industry, no change will take place until foreign competition is allowed. I found a British motorhome manufacturer who crash tests their products. Let the Brits, Japanese and Chinese in and prices will come down and quality will go up.
