Its up to the manufacturer to step up to the plate and resolve this issue. CW is the dealer and yes they bear some aspects because they represent the company (Thor). If option #2 is done then CW has stepped up and made things right, in what they can do. CW can not purchase you a different brand and give into your demands. Companies don't work that way. Once they give you your money back then you are free to choose what ever product you wish.
If CW did meet your demands and you received another product and you have issues with replacement, then your in the same boat with CW and the new manufacturer.
These are just my thoughts.
You are right on. He cannot expect anymore than being made whole but he must be made whole for Thor to have any credibility.
